Insurance Sales Representative – High-Energy, Results-Driven Sales Professional

Terrill Talamo State Farm Insurance Agency | Full-Time Position

Are You a Driven Sales Professional Who Loves to Win?

We are looking for a highly motivated, competitive, and results-oriented Insurance Sales Representative to join our growing State Farm agency located in Pearl River, LA.

This is not a position for someone who simply wants to answer phones and take orders. We are looking for a self-starter, a relationship builder, and a strong closer who takes ownership of their results, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is motivated by achieving and exceeding sales goals.

Our ideal candidate is confident on the phone, persistent with follow-up, skilled at overcoming objections, and passionate about helping customers protect what matters most.

If you have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and a desire to build a successful career in sales, we want to hear from you!

What We Are Looking For

We want individuals who demonstrate the following qualities

  • Self-Motivated & Accountable You take initiative, manage your daily activities, and hold yourself accountable for achieving results without constant supervision.

  • Highly Driven & Competitive You are motivated by goals, enjoy healthy competition, and consistently push yourself to exceed expectations.

  • Strong Closing Ability You know how to ask for the sale, overcome objections, create appropriate urgency, and confidently guide prospects toward purchasing decisions.

  • Exceptional Verbal Communication You are confident, articulate, persuasive, and professional. You can build rapport quickly and communicate value effectively over the phone.

  • Excellent Multitasking Skills You can manage multiple leads, customer conversations, follow-up activities, quoting systems, and administrative responsibilities while maintaining accuracy.

  • Persistent & Resilient You understand that sales requires consistent effort. You are comfortable hearing "no," handling rejection professionally, and maintaining a positive attitude.

  • Organized & Detail-Oriented You follow a structured sales process, maintain accurate customer records, and ensure that no sales opportunity falls through the cracks.

  • Coachable & Growth-Minded You welcome feedback, embrace training, and continuously look for ways to improve your sales performance.

  • Customer-Focused You ask thoughtful questions, identify customer needs, and recommend appropriate insurance solutions rather than simply selling on price.

Position Overview

As an Insurance Sales Representative, your primary responsibility will be to generate new business, convert leads into customers, and grow the agency.

You will spend a significant portion of your day making high-volume outbound calls, contacting prospective customers, following up on insurance quotes, identifying additional insurance needs, and closing sales.

This is a proactive, activity-driven sales position requiring strong time management, consistent follow-through, and the ability to balance sales production with excellent customer service.

You will help customers understand their insurance options, identify gaps in coverage, and offer solutions involving auto, home, renters, life, and other available insurance products.

Success in this role is measured by your daily activity, quality of customer conversations, follow-up consistency, sales conversion, and overall production.

Key Responsibilities

1. Outbound Prospecting & Lead Generation

  • Make a high volume of outbound calls daily to new leads, existing prospects, and potential customers.

  • Respond promptly to inbound leads and new insurance quote requests.

  • Consistently work assigned lead lists, marketing-generated opportunities, and prospect databases.

  • Proactively contact customers who have previously requested quotes but have not purchased coverage.

  • Generate additional sales opportunities through referrals, cross-selling, and relationship building.

  • Maintain a strong sense of urgency when contacting new prospects.

2. Sales Conversations & Closing Business

  • Conduct professional, confident, and engaging insurance sales conversations.

  • Build rapport quickly and establish trust with prospective customers.

  • Ask needs-based questions to understand each customer's current insurance coverage, financial priorities, and protection needs.

  • Prepare and present competitive insurance quotes while clearly communicating coverage benefits and value.

  • Confidently ask for the sale and guide qualified prospects through the purchasing process.

  • Identify and professionally overcome objections related to price, coverage, timing, and competitor comparisons.

  • Focus on converting qualified quotes into issued policies rather than simply providing pricing.

  • Consistently work toward and exceed established sales goals.

3. Follow-Up & Pipeline Management

  • Maintain a disciplined daily follow-up schedule for all active prospects and outstanding quotes.

  • Follow up through phone calls, text messages, and emails in accordance with agency procedures and applicable requirements.

  • Re-engage prospects who have not responded or have postponed purchasing decisions.

  • Accurately document customer conversations, objections, next steps, and follow-up dates in the agency's CRM system.

  • Manage a high volume of leads at various stages of the sales process.

  • Ensure every qualified prospect receives consistent, timely, and professional follow-up.

  • Take personal ownership of moving opportunities through the sales pipeline.

4. Multi-Line Insurance Sales & Cross-Selling

  • Identify opportunities to help customers bundle eligible insurance products, including auto, home, renters, and other available coverages.

  • Explain applicable multi-line discount opportunities and the value of consolidating insurance protection.

  • Proactively introduce life insurance as part of a comprehensive needs-based conversation.

  • Ask appropriate questions to identify family protection needs, income replacement concerns, and financial responsibilities.

  • Present suitable life insurance options based on customer needs, eligibility, and affordability.

  • Build long-term customer relationships by identifying additional insurance needs over time.

5. Daily Sales Activity & Performance

  • Consistently meet or exceed established expectations for outbound calls, customer contacts, quotes, follow-ups, and closed sales.

  • Maintain a full and organized sales pipeline.

  • Prioritize daily activities to maximize productivity and conversion opportunities.

  • Track individual sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Participate in daily sales meetings, coaching sessions, role-playing exercises, and product training.

  • Demonstrate personal accountability for both sales activity and production results.

  • Maintain accurate records and complete necessary policy documentation.

6. Customer Experience & Professionalism

  • Provide a positive, professional experience throughout the sales process.

  • Educate customers on coverage options, policy features, and available discounts.

  • Communicate clearly, listen actively, and respond promptly to customer questions.

  • Maintain professionalism and composure during challenging conversations.

  • Follow agency procedures, State Farm requirements, licensing rules, and applicable insurance regulations.

  • Represent the agency with integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.

Qualifications & Skills

Required

  • Strong verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.

  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to prospect, sell, overcome objections, and close business.

  • Self-motivated personality with a strong desire to achieve measurable goals.

  • Ability to manage a high volume of outbound calls and follow-up activities.

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven sales environment.

  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn multiple software systems.

  • Professional attitude, dependability, and willingness to be coached.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain required insurance licenses.

Preferred

  • Previous experience in insurance sales, inside sales, outbound sales, telemarketing, or a similar sales-focused role.
